Pedro M. Ruiz-Martinez is Vice Rector for Strategy and Digital University of the Universidad de Murcia (Spain) and Coordinator of the Working Group on Online Education and EdTech (FOLTE) of the Spanish Universities Association (CRUE). He is a computer engineer and got his PhD in Universidad de Murcia, where he is now coordinating their Doctorate Programme in Computer Science. He is also the Head of the Professional ICT Certification Centre in that University (CERTIC).
His teaching expertise is in the area of telematics engineering and has been Dean of the Computer Science Faculty and Head of the ICT Department of Universidad de Murcia. His research in computer networks has been published in more than a hundred papers, and has led several European and National Research Projects. He was visiting researcher at the ICSI UC-Berkeley and associated researcher at the UC-Santa Cruz, as well as visiting researcher at the King’s College London. Pedro also coordinated the Advanced Experiments on Computer Networks at the National Network RedIRIS. He also has a patent in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
